RELEASE: Auchincloss Receives ‘A’ Rating from League of Conservation Voters
Auchincloss’ demonstrated commitment to climate protection recognized by the LCV
Newton, MA — Congressman Jake Auchincloss (D, MA-04) received an ‘A’ rating from the League of Conservation Voters for the third year in a row, demonstrating his continued commitment to climate action and the clean energy transition.
“As the youngest parent in the Democratic caucus, I am focused on leaving the planet better than we found it. My voting record in Congress reflects that,” said Auchincloss. “From supporting new clean energy generation to expanding transit to safeguarding our water, we must protect and heal our planet.”
As one of his first actions as a Member of Congress, Congressman Auchincloss cosponsored the Green New Deal resolution. He has been a leading proponent of offshore wind development off Massachusetts’ South Coast. He has also supported an all-of-the-above clean energy strategy, including fusion energy, superhot rock geothermal energy, and broad-based funding for renewables research, development, and deployment projects.
“The Commonwealth’s representatives in congress continue to prove time and again that they will lead with a strong, steady voice on priorities that fight climate change and protect the health of our communities,” said Elizabeth Turnbull Henry, President of the Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund, a state affiliate of LCV. “We are lucky to have lawmakers such as Congressman Auchincloss using their power to protect our planet for future generations and fight for environmental justice.”
In the 118th Congress, Congressman Auchincloss will continue working for progressive climate legislation.
