Readout of FDIC Briefing for Massachusetts Delegation 

Washington, DC — Today, following a request from Congressman Jake Auchincloss, the FDIC provided a regional specific briefing to the Massachusetts Congressional delegation regarding the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, which purchased Boston Private in 2021. Additionally, Congressman Auchincloss met with Dr. Susan M. Collins, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. The following quote can be attributed to the congressman: 

“Today I expressed to regulators that Massachusetts' Main Street needs small and mid-size banks to lend for housing, small business, and nonprofits. New regulations should buttress these lenders and the everyday Bay Staters they support.”
