RELEASE: Auchincloss Appointed Chair of Dads Caucus Working Group on Technology, Media and Family
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today U.S. Rep. Jimmy Gomez (CA-34), Founder and Chair of the Congressional Dads Caucus, announced that U.S. Rep. Jake Auchincloss (MA-04) will chair the new Technology, Media and the Family Working Group.
The working group will convene subject matter experts to educate members on issues related to modern technology and media and their impact on families, particularly surrounding children’s mental health and online safety.
"Parents shouldn’t have to wrestle with trillion-dollar social-media corporations over what’s best for their children. Meta, TikTok, and the rest are attention-fracking America’s youth, but they are so big and so profitable that they have knocked down objectors. As a millennial parent in Congress, I am intent on taking on their corporate greed to protect our children’s mental health, cognitive development, and sense of self,” said Auchincloss.
“Kids’ privacy, health and safety online is crucial, especially as they have unprecedented access to the internet. As parents and as legislators, it is our responsibility to ensure our kids are safe as they navigate today’s digital age. I am confident that Rep.
