RELEASE: Auchincloss Advocates for Massachusetts Priorities at Appropriations Hearing
Washington, DC — Today, Congressman Jake Auchincloss (D, MA-04) appeared before the United States House Appropriations Committee to advocate for his community project funding requests that will directly benefit the Fourth District.
WATCH: Auchincloss Testimony before House Appropriations Committee
Among the priorities Auchincloss discussed were:
- Bristol Community College’s National Offshore Wind Institute
- City of Fall River Battleship Cove Off Street Parking and Pier Improvement Project
- Hopedale Water Supply
- Manet Community Health Center Satellite Clinic in Attleboro
- Medway Water System Improvements
- New Hope Domestic Violence Shelter in Attleboro
- North Attleborough’s Ten-Mile River Dredging Project to Mitigate Flooding
- Norton’s Wells 4,5,6 replacement
- Plainville Critical Water Needs
- Somerset Emergency Dam Improvements
“The Massachusetts Fourth, from Fall River to Brookline, is a powerhouse of talent and work ethic,” said Auchincloss. “From the life sciences to education to clean energy, we are innovators and builders. But for too long we have lacked the infrastructure we need to fully thrive. The investments I am putting forward will make stronger towns and healthier families. They will make our water cleaner, our future greener, and our children healthier.”
Today’s Appropriations Committee hearing follows the release of President Biden’s fiscal year 2022 discretionary funding request, which included significant investments in working families, including double digit increases for education and health programs. The Appropriations Committee is now using that blueprint and Member requests to formulate spending bills for the upcoming fiscal year.
