Rep. Auchincloss holds forums to hear feedback from Bristol County residents

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WJAR) — Massachusetts Congressman Jake Auchincloss, a Democrat who represents Massachusetts' 4th Congressional District, visited Bristol County on Saturday to listen to the voices of the community.

He held in-person town halls at the Fall River Government Center and the Sweet Community House in Attleboro to update residents on his work in Washington, D.C.

People in attendance came out to talk about issues that matter to them most.

"My first two years in office, I worked closely with state and local officials on housing, economic development, and mental health services, it's going to continue to be a focus for us as we look to develop more housing on the waterfront and improve the downtown vitality of Fall River," Auchincloss told NBC 10 News.

Auchincloss says community feedback helps influence his work in Congress.

"I got my start in politics knocking on doors in my hometown, had thousands of one-on-one conversations," he said. "I continue to believe that even in an era of cable news and social media, the very best way to connect with constituents is in-person to hear from them directly, and so I have always prioritized these in-person town halls throughout the district."
