Washington, DC - Tonight, the House Democratic Steering Committee and Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the nomination of Congressman-Elect Jake Auchincloss (D, MA-04) for an appointment to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in the 117th Congress.
"Transportation and infrastructure is at the intersection of jobs, climate change, and racial justice,” said Auchincloss. “I look forward to continuing the work I’ve done on the city council and in the private sector to build the foundation for an economy that works for everyone."
The Steering Committee nominations will go to the full Democratic Caucus for approval.
“In November’s historic election, the American people voted to preserve the House Democratic Majority and to strengthen it with the election of our brilliant Freshmen Members,” said Speaker Nancy Pelosi. “With these strong nominations, our Caucus has recognized the leadership and expertise of our outstanding Freshmen Class and returning Members and empowered them to make a difference for their communities and all hard-working Americans. Guided by their vision, voices and values, these Representatives will enrich the most dynamic and diverse Democratic Majority ever and will be vital to our work advancing progress For The People.”
