Auchincloss: Strong message to working families needed at State of the Union
On the economic front, Massachusetts Congressman Jake Auchincloss, who represents much of Bristol County, says the President should highlight efforts to bring back business and activities after two years of pandemic precautions.
“We need a strong message from the President about putting COVID behind us, about how we have control over COVID, COVID does not have control over us, and about putting a strong economy ahead of us,” Auchincloss said.
Auchincloss says the President has put forth strong job creation and infrastructure policies, and should highlight those tonight. He’d also like to see a plan to lower costs for working families as inflation grows.
On the subject of Ukraine, Auchincloss says the President is making a wise decision to avoid direct conflict with Russia and instead work to harm the Russian economy with sanctions.
