Military Academy Nominations
Congressman Auchincloss’ office hosted a recorded 2026 Virtual Academy Night on Tuesday, May 12th from 6:15 - 7:30 pm. This was an opportunity for high school students in grades 9 - 11 to learn more about the application process for five United States Service Academies: West Point, Navy, Air Force, Merchant Marines, and Coast Guard.
The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. For more information, please review our 2026 Military Academy Night Presentation.

Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.
Representative Auchincloss may nominate up to fifteen individuals for each vacant academy slot allotted to our district. To request a Military Academy Nomination from our office, please complete the form below. Please see the list of documents you will have to attach to the application below to be considered for a nomination to one of the U.S. Service Academies. The deadline for submissions is Sunday, November 1st by 11:59 pm.

- Personal Statement
- Official High School Transcript (sent directly to our office from your school)
- Official SAT and/or ACT Scores
- Resume
- 3 Letters of Recommendation (letters can come from teachers, principals, employers, community leaders, elected officials, etc.; they can be uploaded through the Google Form or sent directly to our office by recommenders)

If you have any trouble submitting the application and supporting documents through our online form, please send directly to our Newton District Office (29 Crafts St Suite 375, Newton, MA 02458) and send a digital copy to our District Representative directly at Ishaan.Bhatia@mail.house.gov. Recommenders may also submit letters of recommendation directly to our office this way, and students may upload a document stating "letters of recommendation sent to Ishaan.Bhatia@mail.house.gov" in place of the Letters of Recommendation file upload slot in the application Google Form.
